It’s the season of gatherings - Autumn, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even in a pandemic, we’ll be getting together with friends and family to create happy memories. With guests on the horizon, here are our favorite ways to make company feel welcome.
Welcoming Porch
Simple things like path lighting, step-scaping, live porch plants, a welcoming doormat, door decorations and soft string lights create a warm greeting from the street and driveway
Entry Envy
Be sure to have your signature scent greet guests at the door. A scented candle (our favorite is No 24 Citrus Rosewood) creates instant atmosphere on the way in. Decorate the entrance with an inside scatter rug, a greeting-filled entry table, a comfortable bench or stool for shoe removal and a hook for coats.
Powder Room
For small gatherings, nothing says ‘welcome home’ more than a cozy powder room. Have plenty of soap on hand (our favorite is Claus Porto Banho Liquid Soap), guest towels, room spray (we recommend No 6 Amber Lotus) and fresh flowers at the ready.
Kitchen Island
Everyone gathers in the kitchen for conversation and appetizers while meal prep is underway. A fragrance diffuser will enhance the environment and fill the room with the warm scents of winter (try No 9 Black Fig Cassis Diffuser Oil).
Guest Room
Get guest ready by having some hotel-style amenities on hand. Prepare a tray that has a welcome card, keys to the house, a guest candle and linen spray (try Relax Lavender Linen Mist), and the ‘house rules’ – quiet times, pet rules, etc. Keep a robe and slippers nearby for the full hotel experience.
Guest Bath
Luxuriate your guests with new wrapped guest soaps, lotions, shampoo and bath bombs. We love Claus Porto Favorito and ACDC Lavender Bath Bombs. Make sure the cabinet is stocked with clean towels, hair dryer, paper products and a No 16 Lavender Pear Room Mist.
Your company will be amazed at your hospitality, leaving well pampered, graciously hosted and thoroughly welcomed into your home.
